Q. IS THE DONATION PROCESS EASY?

A. Yes! You can donate online by filling out the Boats of Hope online donation form & then .  uploading digital pictures of the boat with our photo upload dock which you can reach by clicking the button on top of the page.

 

Q. WHY DONATE MY BOAT?

A. People have many reasons, some want to avoid the hassle of selling, some have personal issues that have taken priority in life, some cannot afford the costs of boat ownership such as marina fee & fuel costs, other people just want to help a great cause & receive a tax deduction for helping!

 

Q. WHO CAN DONATE A BOAT?

A. Any boat owner, any marina or boat yard that has a boat taking up space,as long as there is transferable paperwork or a mechanics lien. Also you can donate for a friend or family member even if you are not the boat owner.

 

Q. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I SUBMIT MY BOAT DONATION TO BOATS OF HOPE?

A. We will look over the boat information& will move forward with our charity auction right away so we can get your boat scheduled for free pickup!

 

Q. So how do I benefit from the donation?

A. After the boat is picked up, our main office will mail you your tax deduction for the final sale value (auction value). Minimum of $500 deduction and up.

 

Q. WHAT TYPES OF BOATS DOES BOATS OF HOPE ACCEPT?

A. Boats of Hope accepts all types of boats, from skiffs to ships, sailboats to cabin cruisers, on blocks, in-water, or on a trailer, as long as it's not a total wreck & has paperwork we can work with it!

 

Q. How long does it take for my boat to be

       picked up?

A. Usually a few days after the end of the charity auction.
